Does anybody else have to put up with either of these kind of cr*p, both of which I got on an old post of mine, which is now screened for anonymous comments:
Simple test about the profit: Undecretive nondepreciatory box canyon jee a charcoaly escaladers [etc etc etc etc] What is it?

As [livejournal.com profile] pseudomonas helped me see, it's a primitive form of flyblogging, relying on the target to google the terms to see what's been advertised. Only it failed for me, because I thought it was some kind of word puzzle, and spent five seconds over it before deciding that from an anonymous source it wasn't worth the effort...

Speaking of attitudes being affected by the media, for as long as I can remember, my association with the sinking of the Belgrano has been that bloody tabloid headline it garnered.

Only today, did I discover, from the BBC "On this day" column:

The Belgrano sinking was the most controversial event of the Falklands War. Many people, both inside and outside the British Parliament said it was an unnecessary use of force - the ship was outside the exclusion zone and apparently sailing away from the Falklands.

A few months later, the Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was famously grilled on national television by a British housewife who said that the bombing ensured a halt to peace talks being brokered by the UN and the Peruvian Government at the time.

How on earth, growing up in an era of Simon Weston, did I fail to pick up on this?
