Why have you locked this post, babe? If it were public then some of the people who actually know what I looked like seventeen years ago could support (or contradict) my opinion!
It's very considerate of you to be so careful of my privacy. But since this is clearly not actually a photo of me, it would be kind of odd to object to people seeing it!
And I will try to break the habit of calling you 'babe'. I'm afraid it's my default term of affection. And there aren't many other words that (for me) carry the same connotations of cool and sexy and fun but without shading into potentially soppy endearments. I did know that you object to it, but I'm not always very good at keeping that in mind. Sorry.
That kid looks as though she's going to grow up into a peanut butter advert, her appetite healthfully enhanced by the bracing river air. More to the point, her eyes are brown.
