Pumpkin soup sounds delicious, do you have a recipe?
The recipe my friend Tracy (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=634421079&hiq=tracy%2Cwilkinson) gave me nine years ago, with additions by myself in square brackets, goes:
Get a pot. Slice some [2] onions and [2] carrots and [1 stick of] celery and fry them in the bottom. Then cut the pumpkin [half an approx. 7~ pumpkin] up and remove the skin. (If you find an easy way of doing this let me know). [Answer: use a vegetable peeler!] By this time the onion should be clear so add the pumpkin, 6 cups of vegetable stock (one teaspoon or one cube dissolved in one cup of water makes one cup of vegetable stock) and 5 cloves. Cover and simmer at least until the pumpkin is tender (more won't hurt it). Remove the cloves, puree soup in a blender, and simmer again. When you're ready to serve stir in 1/2 cup whipping cream and 2 tbsp honey, and season with salt and pepper.
Any of the above ingredients can be ommitted except the pumpkin, the stock and the onion. There are heaps of other recipes for pumpkin soup, that one is just my favourite.
[Serves ten]
