I spent the last two days on a course at Kingswood Warren, a converted country manor where the BBC's boffins do their R&D -- a description which, to my delight, makes it sound like Bletchley Park during WW 2.

I love this place; it really is such an oddity. Even the name of the road it's on is odd: Bear's Den.

The grandfather clock is 200 years old.

They also have there the original, physical, BBC One globe, which they dug out and demonstrated to me the first time I was there.
