Islamic authorities are
trying to cause trouble, protesting against Israel's future-proofing the Dung Gate access to the Temple Mount, following the collapse of a centuries-old stairway during storms in 2004. "A senior Muslim cleric urged Palestinians to rush to the compound to protest against the work at the so-called Dung Gate walkway," despite the fact the Israeli authorities "have guaranteed that they will be no structural damage to the ancient site."
They've got a <quack>ing cheek. Under the authority of the Waqf, two new underground mosques have been built on the Temple mount, one large enough to carry five thousand people! The dirt displaced by the construction of these, containing potential archaeological finds from the Second and possibly even First Temple period, and protected by the Antiquities Law,
was dumped, simply thrown away!
The bastards can complain when they've proved themselves both guiltless themselves, and trustworthy. That's
our heritage they've trashed. I trust the Israelis to safeguard the site as they claimed. I don't trust the Waqf's contractors as far as I can throw them.
