Last time I went to the bike shop, they told me I have the wrong brake shoes on my rear wheel. I said, you told me that last time; I was going to let them wear out and then replace them. They said, they won't wear out; they're like concrete.

So I'm now in the unusual position of having concrete shoes but still being around to report it, rather than at the bottom of the nearest harbour. :o)

Bank Holiday weekend plans

Blast, once again I forgot it was a Bank Holiday weekend coming up, and failed to make plans for it. Anyone got any suggestions for things to do, or interest in meeting up, to while away the long hours on Sunday and Monday?

The responsive tune for לְדוֹר וָדוֹר at the end of the קְדֻשָּׁה is very nice, but it does sound a little odd when you're taking the service using the Ashkenazi pronunciation in a congregation that does not, and you're singing [lədaʊr vɒdaʊr] and everyone else is responding [lədɔr vædɔr]...
