Thursday, December 6th, 2007 05:32 pmWas cycling home from a Chanukah party last night and ran over something which embedded itself in my tyre; I could hear it making a noise every time the wheel went around. Stopped and investigated, and there's a bloody great razor blade* sticking out of my tyre. I dug it out and cycled off home, fully expecting the tyre to go down either on the ride home or overnight. Today, however, it's still at pressure. I'm impressed.
* Well, not a bloody razor blade; it's not that kind of story. And it wasn't particularly great either.
Meanwhile, my financial consultant has recommended I pay off 10% of my mortgage, and then put some of my savings into equity ISAs† and a unit trust, for better investment. Doing so will completely empty my Northern Rock account. I feel a little guilty about so doing; it's such customer disloyalty that got NR into the pickle it's currently in, even if in my case it's for sounder financial reasons than lack of faith in it as an insitution...
† I'm a bit narked at the financial world for changing my default reading of "ISA" from "is a"...
