I've just upgraded epicyclic from Fedora Core 5 to Fedora 8, and frankly, it's been the easiest upgrade I've done. Some of the software I've had to add manually previously came with the system this time, and once again Greg Gulik's page made installing much of what didn't simple and painless. Moreover, Hebrew with vowels, which hasn't rendered properly on some previous versions of Fedora, renders properly here, including even the Mechon Mamre chumash with vowels and notes. Arabic renders properly, too; which I've also had problems with in the past. The copy-protected DVD I got of Pulp Fiction, which wouldn't play on FC5 (but would on FC6) plays fine too.
