(Well, not literally. Here* is as close as you can get to the literally.)

[livejournal.com profile] lethargic_man: We are at page x in the ArtScroll and page y in the Birnbaum.

Gerrard: Can you announce page numbers in the Routledge?

[livejournal.com profile] lethargic_man: No, can you announce page numbers in the Routledge?

Gerrard: I haven't got one!
Alon: Before the Torah service, we are going to break for a few minutes for—

[livejournal.com profile] lethargic_man: Kiddush!
[livejournal.com profile] lethargic_man's mother, on the 'phone afterwards: [livejournal.com profile] aviva_m said Grassroots Jews was a bit too happy-clappy for her. <pause> They don't really clap, do they?

:o)

* For those of you who don't have permission to view the album: The bimah, with mirrored lightbox installation by Elliott Tucker (later filled with a mini sefer Torah), artwork symbolising the progression of the Rosh Hashanah morning service by I forget who, and strings of fairy lights (and sifrei Torah and shofar, of course); and our chazzan Yossi Chajes leading havdalah after the fast ended.

This event listing (at which—small Jewish world—[livejournal.com profile] livredor's brother the Thuggish Poet is amongst the performers) is so cool I just had to share it:
Uh Oh...Gaby P of the Grassroots Jews sent a crack team of grassrooters to capture and release the LEVIATHAN, a mythical sea creature of Jewish folklore.

After storing it in her parents' basement, it made too much noise...so they sent it to Moishe House London. But it ate all the food there. After a long committee meeting it was slung out.
...
Finally, it's been trapped in the Congregation of Jacob Synagogue in East London, where after being slayed by the synagogue warden David Brandes it's been shechted and its skin used for the succa walls.
