Minor language milestone
Friday, September 7th, 2012 01:42 pmWell, I think that was the first time I was talking with someone in Hebrew (which I tend to do with my work host in preference to German, as I can think considerably faster in it and have more vocabulary), and switched to German because there was a word I needed which I didn't know in Hebrew but did in German. ("Intend", FWIW, which was embarrassing because if you'd asked me what כַּווָנָה meant, I'd have said "intention" straight away—I'm constantly doing this kind of forgetting words in German because I'm taking on so many new ones so fast in my classes—though I wasn't familiar with the verb, which Google Translate informs me is לְהִתְכַּוֵּן.)
Still, a minor milestone, I think, as these things go.
