I told you so beforehand. In the past maybe 19th century the aristocrats and other sophicticated people spoke the correct grammar. But as soon as the usual folks took over the German language and grammar suffered. The usual folks spoke dialects and now there is hardly anyone speaking dialects but keeps the bad grammar. The German lady I stayed with several times said that the German education became very bad. I said people do not read much and therefore do not know much grammar. Not every English uses correct grammar either in English.
