It's good to get away for the weekend from time to time; after I split up with [livejournal.com profile] livredor I resolved to go away for the weekend more, now I no longer had a monthly excuse to get out of London. In particular, Cambridge seemed a possibility for day trips as there's a bunch of you there and it's relatively easy to get to. But so far this year I've only spent one weekend away, for the one day Limmud in Newcastle the other week, with my next planned weekend away not being until Pesach in a month and a bit.

It's occurred to me we've got a double Bank Holiday weekend coming up for which I have no plans at present after Saturday (Friday being Purim). Does anyone fancy meeting up for anything in Cambridge next Sunday or Monday? (To my astonishment, there does appear to be a train service running (albeit with delays for engineering works) on the Monday.)

Possibly; if so, then a fairly strong preference for Monday. All depends on plans-with-rellies and general level of knackeredness, though.

Since you're getting my stories on the writers mailing list, I thought I'd drop by and make your acquaintance.

Though not reading them, I should add; I don't have infinite amounts of time.

I thought I'd drop by and make your acquaintance.

Howdy. <tips hat>

[livejournal.com profile] compilerbitch and i shall be creating something resembling a roast in Leytonstone at Sunday lunchtime - if you are still available it would be lovely if you could come ([livejournal.com profile] fluffymark, [livejournal.com profile] timeplease and [livejournal.com profile] red_sparrow should be there too)

Doesn't preclude getting out of London on the Monday, though (he says hopefully).

Fancy drumming up support from some other Cambridge people? (Ah, I think I've just discovered (http://www.livejournal.com/users/livredor/80673.html) why [livejournal.com profile] pseudomonas didn't respond to this...

definitely - Sarah was mentioning something about a potential nut roast. is it acceptable for it to be cooked in a meat cooking kitchen? (I am not sure what kind of meat though)

Sarah asks whether you would be OK with a
traditional sunday dinner, but with something substituted for meat, and
if so then what would you like.

Given the choice of eating out in a completely vegetarian restaurant, and one which serves vegetarian dishes but is not itself vegetarian, I will always go for the former. However, as I don't limit myself to the former exclusively, I will eat food prepared in your kitchen too.

I like traditional Sunday roasts. My mother, raised on traditional Ashkenazi chicken every Friday night, got fed up of it, as a result of which my Friday night dinners as a child were traditional Sunday roasts brought forward by a day and a half.

One day, as I've mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] livredor before, I plan to find out how to make the most impressive fake beef they serve in the TAI chain of Chinese/Thai vegan restaurants*, so I can serve veggie roast beef and Yorkshire puddings in my own Friday night dinners.

Anyhow, to answer your question, I'm not all that fussy, other than to point out I don't like cheese.
