I really need [livejournal.com profile] pseudomonas's icon for this post...

I've got a stopover of 85 minutes coming up in Brussels. What's the one sight I must see in Brussels that I can reach, see, and be guaranteed to get back to the train station in an hour and a quarter max?

Belgian acquaintance says the Grand Place, and that there's a beer museum nearby if you like that sort of thing.

if he arrives at Midi, he can take any train that goes to Central (quicker than the metro), hop out, take a peek at the grand place and surrounding areas, then hop back to Midi. very doable in an hour.

What are you doing in Brussels?
(Again I won't see your comment. I looked into what you told me and ticked even more but it did not solve the problem with the email notification. It seems to be a technical issue.)

Thanks!

A look at a map suggests I could walk to Grand Place in a quarter of an hour (at a stiff pace); possibly more reliable than the train... provided I can manage not to get lost!

Amazing, totally awesome. I am just getting into writing articles myself, nothing remotely close to your writing potential (ha!) but I'd love for you to take my stuff someday!

As I know now who you meet I don't ask anymore. I did not know there is one going to Cologne. My grandma lives directly in Cologne and lived at her place and studied at College. Therefore I know the place better than Bonn where I lived with my parents. If my parents don't want to fly I could suggest taking the Eurostar from Cologne.

привет, Извиняюсь, но, по-моему, есть другой путь решения вопроса.
