Robert the Bruce's Seder Plate

In lieu of the post I want to write, but which I don't really have time for, and nor do half of you, two days before Pesach, allow me to present:

Robert the Bruce's Seder Plate, featuring the world's most unrealistic lion portrayal (you've got to love those mediaevals, who didn't let the fact they hadn't the foggiest what a lion looked like stop them from making a representation of one, on the grounds their intended audience wouldn't have any better idea either):

(It's actually at the bottom of a bowl, which may be viewed in the National Museum of Scotland, in my favourite city, Auld Reekie.)
