I saw a fox on my way home today, in broad daylight (well, three minutes before sunset at any rate). It was strutting along a central London street, cool as a cucumber, and exchanged a civil glance with me as I cycled past. I've seen lots of foxes at night, and one once at dusk in Edinburgh, but this is the first time I've ever seen one in enough daylight to admire the colour of its pelt.

There was a fox years ago in someone's house of the NNLS. It was still daylight. Many people panicked and were worried about rabis. Rabbi Jonathan thought it was an unreasonable fear. The fox was just lost. Someone chased it out. I like lots of animals including foxes. They are wild dogs and are more afraid of us than we are of them.

There hasn't been any rabies in the UK since the Victorians shot all the rabid dogs to stamp it out. When the Channel Tunnel was built, there was concern about foxes and the like crossing from France to bring rabies into the UK; but they put electrical grids at either end, long enough to deter any animal from crossing them.

(Also, foxes are not wild dogs at all; they're a completely different species.)

That is what I heard years ago but I thought it might have changed. If nothing has changed what are people fuzzing about. When foxes are not belonging to the dog family what are they then. Don't tell me they are cats.

They are members of the dog family, but they are not wild dogs. They're cousins of the dog, not directly descended from or ancestral to dogs, as wolves are.
