Stand-up meetings

lethargic_manAt times (though not at the present), the team I've been in at work has engaged in daily catch-up meetings. These meetings have been held standing up, to keep them short.
Apparently, the same applies to the Privy Council's monthly meetings: To keep them short, the Queen stands during them, and therefore no one else may sit.
