lethargic_manI was in the train station the other day buying a ticket (as one does in stations), and I couldn't help being amused that their ticketing application ran in a DOS box. Which is fair enough, on the principle of if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I suppose, but it looked a little odd sitting in the middle of a Windows display on a nice modern flat screen.
And today, in Barclay's Bank, I was further amused to see that their application ran in X-Window, in Unix (from the window borders, I'd say MWM) in Exceed. Perhaps Micros~1 Windows is not quite as universal as I had thought.
