Of course there's a hierarchy for davening from the Amud and (if able) an Avel gets priority. Often the lead is split (second Ashrei is very common) so more than 1 can have the Mitzva.
Deutsche Bank's service is "Sephardic" (ie Chassidic - a twist on Ashkenazi) but not Sephardi (middle East/N African) - an easy mistake.
Leaving Shacharit after Borchu is nonsense. If you're davening anyway, it's not so much longer with an efficient Minyan. The impression you give of juggling priorities is understandable but saying Kaddish is not a box ticking exercise
