However, there are those who say it is wrong to search for the reasons for חוקים, because they're simply what G-d wants, and we can't understand the mind of G-d. Maimonides belongs to this camp except in respect of pork; however he says that even though we don't know what G-d intended, the onus is still on us to search for the reasons.
