There's this lovely tune the old High Holydays chazan in Newcastle used to do for this passage:

הֲבֵן יקִּיר לִי אֶפְרַיִם, אִם יֶלֶד שַעֲשוּעִים, כִּי מִדֵּי דַבְּרִי בּו זָכֹר אֶזְכְּרֶנּוּ עוֹד, עַל כֵּן הָמוּ מֵעי לוֹ, רַחֵם אֲרַחֲמֶנּוּ, נְאֻם ה׳׃

And the old rabbi used to harmonise with it, and it was very beautiful. But now we've got a different rabbi, who doesn't harmonise. So I decided to use my Hybrid Music System and work out the harmonisation, so I could do it myself. Only first I failed to get around to it until now—which wasn't a problem in Newcastle, as we also had a different chazzan, who didn't do that tune. I would like to get the tune straight before Yom Kippur (when I'm in London)... only at a year's remove, I'm having difficulty remembering exactly how it goes.

I reckon it's something like this (247k MP3)... only I'm not at all sure I've got it right (and googling for MP3s or music was no help). (Please excuse the distortion in the music; this is a problem on analogue-to-digital conversion I've been wrestling with for some while...)

Which is to say... umm... <downloads, installs, and plays with Lilypond>:

Anyone here recognise this and care to correct me?

(I also discovered, on trying to note it down, that it's so long since I last read music, I'm having difficulty reading it. Must use my Hybrid Music System to practise more often...)
