Of newspapers with axes to grind
Sunday, December 10th, 2006 08:00 pmI have resolved to give up reading the Jewish News. The last issue I tried reading I got so angry I ended up throwing it to the ground and jumping up and down on. If somebody had offered me the chance to subscribe to the Jewish Chronicle at that point, I'd have done it on the spot (the Jewish News is free). Though, mind you, I don't know the JC is any better, though obviously with different bias.
Thing is, the Jewish News, for all that I only read it intermittently was my only access to Jewish news. Can anybody recommend a alternate source (preferably with relevance to Anglo-Jewry, though I'm not interested in the extremely local news aspect), less likely to annoy what
blackherring calls a post-denominational Jew*?
* Not how I identify myself, but I am pluralist in my outlook.
