WW1 veterans

livredor and I were having a conversation a while ago about how many supercentenarians there are in the world, and how we both think about Armistice Day commemorations involving WW1 veterans laying wreaths, but this hasn't actually been the case for a while, as they're mostly dead now and the remainder are too old.

Consequently I was surprised to see an article on BBC Online today describing WW1 veterans laying wreaths to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Britain's declaration of war on Germany. There were four of them, and they were aged 103, 104, 106 and 108.

I take my hat off to them for making the effort.
