This is interesting... I like the way it places simplicity as the number one consumer demand. And I think that is correct. Technology is the handmaiden of humanity, not vice versa, and thus people want easy, accessible technology that works comfortably and instantly, even if that means giving up cutting-edge innovation. Who needs innovation 24/7 any way? You just want stuff to work. I, for one, have pledged eternal allegiance to the Nokia phone because I am used to its interface and it is easy-to-work. Who cares about nifty Samsung or Motorola devices? Simplicity offers structure, comfort and a sense of control, and ultimately, that is the raison d'etre of most technology.
