Bah, humbug!

Gave blood on Wednesday. (And then cycled to work on Thursday and Friday, completing a higher weekly mileage on a week not involving going on long bike rides than I've managed since 1998—possibly an excess of enthusiasm, under the circumstances.) And then since yesterday have had a slight sore throat (gone today), and general lack of energy, and slight wooziness, which may just be tiredness, but may be symptoms of a slight cold; so I've had to let the blood donation people know so they can throw my blood away if they think it's infected.

This is not the first time this has happened. It's annoying to go to the time and effort of giving blood, and then turn into a Cold Attractor, and have to have the blood thrown away.

Is it at all possible that losing the blood makes you more prone to colds?

Not that I'm aware. The good news, though, is that the blood service called me back to tell me my blood was okay, as I'd been well for three days after giving it.
