I've just realised Firefox (2.0.0.10 on Linux) is silently putting in fi and fl ligatures into posts (and then breaking them temporarily apart if you select with the mouse one letter out of the two). I wonder how long it's been doing that.

(I dare say it would have impressed me more if I'd discovered this before I discovered what it does to Arabic.)

I noticed that a week or so ago. I considered reporting, but it seems to be a known issue, possibly a pango bug.
