Friday, March 7th, 2008 09:59 amThe programme manager for our current project (don't ask me what a programme manager is, or how it differs from a producer or a project manager) has taken to giving out Krispy Kreme doughnuts once a week (or maybe once a fortnight). Week after week I've been ignoring the others all chowing on doughnuts, because I didn't know if they were kosher. This week he gave them out, and I headed straight off to Google—and it transpires whilst they're not hechshered in the UK, they're made from kosher ingredients, and using the same process, and with the same separation of production from anything else, as in the USA, where they are.
Drat; I should have looked this up a long time ago.
And of course, by the time I'd looked this up, the doughnuts were gone.
But this week is special: we've just finished coding of the project (phase 1) on time, and in scope (and with 4500 automated acceptance tests all passing, so hopefully QA will be a relatively painless experience), and so a second set of doughnuts will be going around this afternoon. :o)
