Thursday, October 29th, 2009 07:31 pmLast Monday will be the last day this year I race the sun home and win. (Made it to the greengrocer around the corner a minute before sunset.) But I'm still able to get back to Golders Green (just) before it starts getting dark so I'm happy (for the next few days).
A few days ago, the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative sent me their winter catalogue, accompanied by an order form labelled "My Wishlist of Shiny Things". I was slightly annoyed to see after a few minutes I'd got a coffee ring mark on it... until I looked closer and realised the mark
was actually printed onto the paper. It also came with a number of stickers, each featuring the shop's logo (right), in some cases doubling up as an "O", reading "← LOVE THIS" (and "LOVE THIS →", et passim), "← I'D LIKE ONE OF THESE", "← AND THIS", "← THAT'S COOL", "← OH YES", and "← THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE MOTORISED" (the Revolution being their range of bicycles.
I like their attitude. And might show my appreciation by forking out for a pair of waterproof socks (rather than just using plastic bags inside my sandals, which doesn't really work).
