BBC Media City
Wednesday, November 21st, 2012 02:51 pmThe BBC Media City in Salford is like the Media Village in White City writ large: lots of buildings looking like the Broadcast and Media Centres in the latter. I'm in a meeting in Quay House, where the acting Director General, Tim Davie, is giving a talk to the whole BBC. Like in the Broadcast Centre in the Media Village, there's a gigantic atrium punched down through the whole height of the building; so I try listening to the aDG from five storeys—five tall storeys—up. Unfortunately his amplification is not quite up to the job—I can hear odd words and phrases, but not whole sentences—so I give up.
