Hah; it would happen that the day I posted my first LJ poll I discovered you can actually achieve roughly the same effect using Google Docs to write to a spreadsheet (and therefore don't need to be a paid user to post polls, not that that's why I stump up):

• It's too early for this. I'm off to make a cup of tea.

No, because I took this off an internal blog at work, and forgot to send home the URL of the spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet when I tried this at work was viewable without my being logged into Google Docs. Obviously, the results wouldn't be inlined into the poll in the same way LJ polls are, but you get what you pay for...
