lethargic_manToday Moishe House had a sweding event. In the film Be Kind, Rewind, when the guy left in charge of a video shop finds all his tapes erased, he decides to fob new customers off for twenty-four hours so he can shoot zero budget remakes of (at least key scenes of) they films they request.
Not unsurprisingly, everyone and his dog then decided to have a go—as you can tell from the 3700 results that turn up when you search for "sweded" on YouTube.
Here's what my group managed (a second group also did The Matrix). It treads the fine line between humorous and laughable (i.e. cringeworthy); which side it falls on probably depends on how many people you are watching it with. No points for spotting the continuity errors, or the key scene we forgot to shoot: we were strictly limited for time, and did everything in a very seat-of-the-pants fashion. Also, I never claimed to be in the slightest able to act: the event was silly, therefore it appealed to me. :o)

Date: 2008-08-20 06:51 am (UTC)No it wasn't; it was the opening sequence of Raiders, in the South American temple. We know because we watched it on DVD immediately beforehand!
(We did also get the title wrong, though: the original film title was Raiders of the Lost Ark. I said this was the case, but the others argued the title on the front of the DVD was Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I'm guessing they added the "Indiana Jones and the " as leverage from the following three films.)
