When I recently bought waterproof trousers from SportsDirect on Oxfnord Street, I immediately threw my old, ragged ones out. This did not turn out to be a mistake when the new ones transpired not to be very waterproof at all; it only turned out to be a mistake when I discovered this evening that SportsDirect had sold out of them so I couldn't get a replacement. So had their other shop, and none of the other shops I tried along the length of Oxfnord Street had, either.

I have now ordered replacements online, but obviously they are going to take a while to arrive. So here is the forecast for the next few days:
