Sunday:
The Pope praises Galileo
.
Monday:
He rejects gender theory
.
Do you think he's even aware of the irony?

He's not aware of very much, never has been, and ranting against teh evil of teh gays is, unfortunately, very much in character.
Having known him in his Cardinal incarnation for many years, I was surprised how much he has held back.
Not exactly an advertisment for universal love and a peaceful life.

Oh, I'm aware of all that. It's the irony about defending a scientist who got persecuted by the Church one day, and trampling roughshod over current-day science the next.

I'm afraid 'science' and 'the pope' tend to be linked by words like 'denying'...

Commentary from someone who's read the text rather than the journalism
. I lack any Italian so can't comment on it myself!

Translation
. As above, no idea how accurate it is.
