Here's how aviva_m and I spent my Chanukah gelt from my parents:

This would have worked better, I think, if I had had fake sideburns. I tried to photoshop some onto the photo, but it didn't really work.

Don't go thinking the second photo is natural, though: That's every bit as much a product of the photographer's directions as the first one. Still, it looks good, doesn't it?

I had the idea after hearing someone telling me years ago about getting such a photo made. He hung it on his wall and pretended it was his great-great-grandfather. People used to look at it and say "Such a coincidence, that your great-great-grandmother looks so like your wife."

Sadly, I don't think I'd manage to fool anyone with mine. (Well, not until I no longer look so much like I do in the photo.)

From which century are the customs supposed to be? I watched episodes about people who went back to the Victorian and Edwardian Era. But they were merchants and farmers. Here you look like upper class citizens.
