Thank you for posting this--both the original post(and fascinating latter comments) as well as in general for posting your notes from these talks! I always find them really intriguing and rewarding to read and only wonder: are we doing Jewish children a disservice by perpetuating things like Hannukah being about oil or the Jewish calendar having been set up as lunar as based on the mentions of New Moon festivals in the Bible? I just wonder what would happen if more people at an earlier point in time were exposed to the types of talks you so thoroughly take notes on, it seems like there is *so* much out there that is potentially being missed out on(for instance, your recent posting on the poetry/texts).
