I encapsulated my rejection of the Kabbalistic hijacking of the meaning of the Omer last night by eschewing the wording in my siddur, and instead using the word for "eleven" that dropped out of the language after the Biblical period: "הַיּוֹם עַשְׁתֵּי עָשָׂר יוֹם שֶׁהֵם שָׁבוּעַ אֶחָד וְאַרְבָּעָה יָמִים לָעֹמֶר׃"
