A day in the life

It's my cousin's wedding coming up in Accrington (of milk advert fame), near Blackburn (of holes fame). Since I'm not working the following day, I thought I could use the time to see the local sights, but a quick glance at Wikipedia isn't particularly encouraging regarding there actually being any.

Does anyone have any recommendations for anything for me to see or do either there or in the wider area, or en route between there and the Big Bad Megalopolis?
