<puts ring on>

Alternatively, I might just put up with it as it is, and wear it as a seven-band ring. The asymmetry is not very noticeable.

I had a puzzle ring made of 4 bands of steel or similar and then coloured gold I bought as a child. I wore it instead of my wedding ring years back to Morocco as my wedding ring got softened by mercury amalgam forming with it too often so that I no longer could wear it without it deforming, in anything other than a really cold climate. The puzzle ring stayed on my finger far better and served to dissuade too much male interest.

I gave it to our guide as a departing gift and then spent a very long time trying to draw instructions to send him when he said it had come undone.

I still have the unpaired ear-rings he gave me in return, a symbol of friendship. I also have a twisted 8 strand silver wire puzzle ring and it bends far too easily.

There are shops round here that sell cheaper puzzle rings. I can't offer speed, but if you wish I could look for one for you if you gave a size.
