...and possibly even if you did, you'll have no idea why listening to this:

makes me feel like doing this:

Repton looking left and right

(Though you probably will be able to have a decent guess.)

Huh. It reminded me a lot of The Sting, and after a quick look at Wikipedia, I discovered I was right, apparently they're both Scott Joplin. (Although I think I just recognised something ragtime-y and couldn't necessarily tell that apart from ragtime from a different composer.)

(I did play Repton, but only a little, and don't really remember the music.)

This was the theme to Repton 2, so if you only played the original game, you wouldn't have heard it. I have a CD of Scott Joplin piano rags which I picked up for £2 about ten years ago, and have spent much time happily listening to since.

ETA: Courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] bluepork's link downthread while I myself was too lazy to go to Wikipedia, I can now point you at the theme for the original Repton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJx1jry3Ev8), in case it rings any bells.

I was not born in this country however it does sound familiar. Germans at my time did not fancy German music not even classics like Mozart and Beethoven. They liked British or American bands or singers and lots of other things coming from America in particular not German. They still do now. The only people who might be crazy about their own music were the Bavarians who don't call themselves German or their music.
