This is excellent. First [livejournal.com profile] papersky reads a Slacktivist post about a place in the Book of Kings, where, where there is a True Prophet's word set against Other Prophets, the Other Prophets are (for once) not denounced as false prophets, but as intentionally lied to by G-d. This is an astonishing thing theologically, and I am astonished that (a) I missed it when I read the Book of Kings, (b) the Soncino commentary to Kings does not pick up on it, and (c) Josephus elides it.

Then [livejournal.com profile] papersky posts a poem to her own blog encapsulating her reaction to this; and as a result of the comments people posted is "now terribly tempted to write about a dystopia full of multi-coloured—blue, polka-dot, tiger striped—but irredemiably evil people" who "have God give up and scrap the whole thing" in a fantasy treatment of the Flood.

And now she's actually writing it!
