National Wedding Sunday??

In the last few hours I have seen on Facebook that Dan Jacobs and Jemma Lerner are now just married (to each other), Nicky Berkeley is married, Julia Cooper is married, Brett and Anick are engaged (I didn't even know they were going out), and Shira Wallach is married.

Seriously, guys, was there something in the water this last weekend? Or is it just like buses?

It was the last Sunday before the Three Weeks.

So? They're only three weeks! There's the whole of the summer afterwards as well!

Yeah, but some people won't get married during Elul either, and even if you're in principle willing to it's not exactly the most convenient time for weddings. I mean, try finding a rabbi or other officiant who's available within weeks of the High Holy Days!
