What stupid ——ing kind of an architect puts a doorway into a nine foot high room from a nine foot high corridor with a lintel less than six feet above the floor?

(The homeowner probably doesn't notice this; she's short. I do; I'm not. Though possibly the storeroom next to it with a lintel five and half feet high is short enough for even her to bash her head again.)

I do feel sorry for your poor head, but don't all architects always make the lintel lower than the ceilings of the rooms connected by the doorway? Isn't that just how doorways work?
