Give blood!
Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 08:35 pmI just got a call from the blood donation people, asking me to give blood. I told them I knew I was overdue to give, but I'd been out of country, then ill. (I'd actually intended to donate this week, once the yomtovim were over.) They asked me if I could ask other people to donate, as they're really low on stocks, so at the risk of repeating myself:
The figures I heard about fifteen years ago were that only 5% of the people in this country give blood, and they're always short of blood. If even only one in ten people donated, they'd never be short again. So, nu, what are you waiting for? (Unless you're one of my readers who commented previously that they can't donate, of course!)
