Flat woes

It never rains but it pours in this place, "this place" being the pile of **** that is my new flat ("pile" being in the architectural sense, and "****" being 1970s Dark Age engineering). I made what in retrospect was the bad decision of switching the gas off whilst I was away, and now it won't relight, and I'm going to have to call out a gas man. After buying new inner tubes and an Armadillo tyre (£30) and getting my bike repaired (£116) and buying a dining room table (£125) and getting it home (£30) and going on holiday (£150, plus travel, plus expenses whilst I was there), this is turning out to be an extremely expensive month.

The one commiserating factor is that the bathroom light, which spontaneously died a few weeks ago, spontaneously undied whilst I was away, and I came home to find it on.

Oh course, this means it's likely to spontaneously die again at some future point, and if the wiring is that dodgy, sounds like I have the possibility of an electrical fire on my hands too. :-(
