What is important

On the day after my wedding, I gave blood; later Andrea and I went to help sort clothes for the asylum seekers project at the New North London Synagogue.

At both places, people said to me, "What are you doing here on the day after your wedding?"

I would have thought the answer was obvious: Doing what was important to me.

Well done! I've failed on my last three attempts to give blood this year. The first two times were due to recent travel, and the last was because I was sick on the appointed day. I think they must have tightened the rules for eligibility based on travel or else there was something in Taiwan that they were particularly worried about.
