Anyone who can give blood* and doesn't ought to: they're chronically pushed for blood, and if even only 10% of the populace—twice the current number—gave regularly, they'd never be short again.

* I know there are several people reading this that can't.

Well, there are those of us who live places whose BSE-related paranoia is such that they'll not take blood donations from anyone who's lived in Britain. Not that I'm sure I'd be a sound blood donor at this point anyway, if it were an option I would want to talk to someone about my particular odd cholesterol chemistry and whether blood with that is a sensible thing to be putting into people [ my suspicion is that the answer is generally yes, but not in certain specific cases, and I don't know that donated blood is labelled such as to be sure of keeping it clear of such cases. ]

Besides, they don't appear to give you a free pint of Guinness here when you donate blood. Orange juice just isn't the same thing.

Yeah, I'd be quite happy to give more blood, but I'm not allowed to at the moment.
