curious_reader wanted me to teach her how to leyn the first paragraph of the Shema, as some shuls sing it in unison at the appropriate point in the service. After a little time on a Shabbos afternoon convinced me she wasn't going to pick it up quickly, I proceeded (after Shabbos, natch) to record myself singing it, converted the recording into an MP3 and then emailed it to her.

I had fun filling in the description fields for the MP3. Artist: G-d, genre: Gospel, date: 2300 AM^*. :o)

* Give or take; I didn't go to the bother of looking academic estimates up.

G-d is omnipresent, therefore G-d's vocal cords stretch from one side of the universe to the other. That sounds pretty bass to me.

If G-d supposed to sing the bass you can't sing it. You sing barriton which I like more than bass.

There's nothing to stop more than one person singing bass, but I'm happy to leave to G-d sing basso profundo and Andrew to sing normal bass. :o)
