Every time I get flu it's so long since the last time I've forgotten how long it lasts, and I think I'll be well again in a few days. It's day eight now, and I'm still symptomatic, and whilst I'm well enough to go to work (and was well enough to fast on Yom Kippur, and only had a temperature for the first two days), I'm not well enough to cycle to work yet, and may not be at all this week.

I would have suggested the same. Don't over do it. I would be very worried if you cycle through the London traffic when you are not 100% well.
