Who the *quack* is Alice?

Did you know there is a Princess Alice in the Royal Family? There are not so many people entitled to that title you'd have thought there could be one you'd never heard of. The reason why probably has something to do with the fact she's a hundred and two. Which means that for most of the last century there would, confusingly, have been two Princesses Alice. I learned about the other one from a television programme about Queen Victoria, in which she was interviewed circa 1971, as the last surviving member of the Royal Family to actually remember Queen Victoria.

Good grief, this post makes me sound like a monarchist, doesn't it? ;^)
